Description

Red Wine

A complex yet approachable 2016 vintage red wine from the Spanish premier wine region Rioja, crafted by the leading winery Campo Viejo. Pairs perfectly with roast meats, grilled tuna, Sunday roasts or vegetable lasagne. This Rioja makes a great gift and is the perfect addition to any special occasion. Best served at 15 -18˚C.

The grapes used to produce this wine are fermented at a controlled temperature of around 28ºC. Maceration with skins takes place for approximately 20 days to deliver the colour of the wine. The wine is then aged for 18 months in American and French-oak casks (50:50) and rounded off for 18 months in the bottle cellar.

Tasting Notes:
A beautiful structured Spanish red wine with fruit characters such as cherries and ripe blackberries. The wine has elegant and soft tannins, middle weight, long and complex finish. A rich palate with ripe red and black fruit, subtle oaky notes with hints of liquorice and cocoa.

Won Silver in The Drinks Business Global Masters Rioja 2020.
